Custom Candidate Sources

Overview


This guide explains how to configure Custom Candidate Sources in SmartRecruiters using CodeBot. It provides step-by-step instructions to help administrators create and manage custom candidate sources, enabling accurate tracking of candidate origins and improved recruitment reporting.



  1. Navigate to CodeBot for SAP SuccessFactors, and enter your login details.


  1. From the Home screen, navigate to Module Access Panel → Talent & Learning → SmartRecruiters.



  1. Select your workspace from the next screen.



  1. Navigate to a generated workbook in my case iteration #1. Click the sheet icon.



  1. The workbook will appear in a new tab on your browser. Select the Custom Candidate Sources worksheet.


  1. Custom Candidate Sources Columns:


  • Column B – Processing Status: Set this to Pending for the new record that we have added.
  • Column C – Source Name: Enter the name of the custom candidate source.
  • Column D – Source Type: Enter the primary category of the candidate source (e.g., Organic, Paid, CRM).
  • Column E – Source Sub-type: Enter the corresponding sub-type for the selected source type (e.g., Career Page, Job Alert, Talent Pool, or Pay per Performance).




  1. Close the workbook and return to SFCodeBot, then click the hamburger icon under the Actions tab for the same iteration number, and select Start Configuration from the drop-down menu.



  1. The Start Configuration popup will appear. Enter your credentials and some execution notes. Lastly, select the Custom Candidate Sources check-boxes, and hit Confirm and Start buttons.



  1. Click the Information (i) icon in the Action column to view the execution details, including the current status, execution logs, request tracking ID, timestamps, and the total time taken to complete the execution.

  1. Once the status shows complete, go back in the workbook, and observe that Custom Candidate Sources has been added successfully as the rows and their corresponding fields are now highlighted green. Meanwhile, the processing statuses have also turned to processed.



  1. You can also verify these changes by logging in to your SmartRecruiters instance and confirming that the newly added custom candidate source appears in the My Sources list with the correct Source Name, Type, and Sub-type.
