Initial Set-Up Guide: API User & RBP Set up

Create a CodeBot User

• Within SuccessFactors, go to export employee information and get a UDF
• Filter down to another admin user, i.e. SFADMIN and copy that data to a new excel document
• Keep status, userID, Username, First/Last name, email, Login method or any other fields the SFADMIN or other similar Admin account has
• Delete all other columns
• Update the data specific for this user i.e. CODEBOTAPI as the UserID. Save as a CSV
• Go to import employee information, and import
• Confirm the record was created.

1. Create the RBP Permission role for CodeBot in SuccessFactors.

   
   

2. • Typical names are “CodeBot Role”
   • Reference CodeBot Permissions Document to find all the necessary permissions for CodeBot functionality.
2. Create the CodeBot RBP Group in SuccessFactors and assign CodeBot Role to that Group

   
   

3. • Typical names are “CodeBot Group”
   • Add the CodeBot user to Manage Role Based Permissions.
3. Create the CodeBot Users and assign them to the CodeBot Group.

   
   

4. • Typical usernames for CodeBot User = codebotuser
   • Set the email to a real email address to the partner/client in case you need to reset the email
   • You'll need this password to add the instance to CodeBot. NOTE: the SAPSF password is not always the same as the IAS password. You can still reset this

password within SAPSF even if the instance utilized IAS SSO.

4. Test that the CodeBot User can log in to SAP SuccessFactors manually.
