EC - Location

This guide outlines the steps to create or update location records in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central using CodeBot Automation.


Prerequisites

Before beginning:

  • Ensure you have access to CodeBot.
  • Have the latest Employee Central workbook available.
  • Verify your login credentials or Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration for SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Ensure you have a list of valid location codes, countries, and address details.


Step 1: Open the Employee Central Workbook


  1. Launch CodeBot.
  2. Open the relevant Employee Central workbook to the Location tab.


Step 2: Set Processing Status to "Pending"


  • Locate the Processing Status column in the workbook and set that to "Pending"


Step 3: Fill in Mandatory Columns


Enter the required data in the respective columns:

Column

Description

Column C – External Code

Unique identifier for the location (must be unique)

Status

Set as "Active" or "Inactive"

Country

Enter the country code (e.g., US, DE, IN)

Address Fields

Fill in relevant address details based on the country (Street, City, etc.)

📝 Optional fields such as location group, time zone, standard weekly hours, legal entity can be filled as needed.



Step 4: Save and Close the Workbook


  • Ensure all necessary fields are completed and the status is set to Pending.
  • Save and close the workbook to prepare for automation.



Step 5: Start CodeBot Automation


  1. In CodeBot, click the hamburger menu (☰)
  2. Select “Start Configuration”.



Step 6: Enter Credentials or Execution Notes


  • If SSO is NOT enabled, enter your SAP SuccessFactors (SFSF) password.
  • If SSO is enabled, enter appropriate execution notes instead.



Step 7: Choose Automation Type


  1. Under Advanced Options, check the box next to “Location”.
  2. Click “Confirm and Start” to initiate the automation.



Step 8: Monitor Execution


  • Click the “i” icon in CodeBot to monitor progress.
  • You can view real-time screenshots of each update being made during the execution.



Step 9: Review Workbook After Execution


  • Once the execution is complete, reopen the Employee Central workbook.
  • Rows that were processed successfully will be highlighted in green.



Step 10: Verify Changes in SAP SuccessFactors


  1. Log in to your SAP SuccessFactors instance.
  2. Navigate to:

Admin Center > Manage Organization, Pay and Job Structures

  1. From the search dropdown, select “Location”.
  2. In the search box next to it, enter your newly added or updated Location ID.
  3. Verify the location’s status, country, and address details.


✅ You should see the location successfully created or updated, confirming that the CodeBot automation worked correctly.
