EC - HRIS Elements

The following article will help explain how you can update an HRIS Element through SFCodeBot.

1. Navigate to CodeBot for SAP SuccessFactors, and enter your login details.

2. On the Home screen, click on the Employee Central module.

3. Select your workspace from the next screen.

4. Navigate to a generated workbook in my case iteration #5. Click the sheet icon.

5. The workbook will appear in a new tab on your browser. Select the HRIS Elements worksheet.

6. Processing Setup:

• Column A: Enter a unique Item ID to identify the record.
• Column B: Set the Status to reflect the current processing state.
• Column C: Enter the Object ID for the configuration.
• Column D: Select the Configuration Type as per your requirement.
• Column E: Enter the Object Title for the field.
• Column F: Enable for Onboarding if applicable.
• Column G: Specify if the field is Country Specific.
• Column H: Enter the Field ID.

7. Across the divider,

• Column I: Enter the Default Label for the field.
• Column J: Select the Data Type (e.g. String, Date, Boolean, Picklist).
• Column K: Set the Maximum Length allowed for the field.
• Column L: Assign the Section where the field belongs.
• Column M: Enter your Customer Label to replace the default name.
• Column N: Mark Field In Use to confirm the field is active.

8. Continue filling in the Field Properties columns on the HRIS Elements tab.

• Column O: Set the Visibility of the field (e.g. Editable, Read-Only, Hidden).
• Column P: Mark Mandatory/Required as Yes or No depending on the field requirement.
• Column Q: Set Masked to Yes or No to control if the field value should be hidden.
• Column R: Enter the Decimal Precision if the field contains numeric values.
• Column S: Select the Display Format for how the field value should appear.
• Column T: Enter a Regular Expression for any specific field validation pattern.
• Column U: Select the Data Source (e.g. Picklist) if the field pulls values from a list.

9. Continue filling in the next Columns:

• Column U: Select the Data Source type (e.g. Picklist) if the field pulls values from a list.
• Column V: Enter the Data Source ID to specify which picklist or data source to use.
• Column W: Enter the Parent Field for Picklist if the picklist depends on another field's value.
• Column X: Set Log Read Access to track when this field is accessed or viewed.
• Column Y: Enter the Maximum Fraction Digits for numeric fields requiring decimal control.
• Column Z: Set Show Trailing Zeros to Yes or No to control the numeric display format.

• Column AA: Set Allow Import to Yes or No to control if this field can be imported.
• Column AB: Set Refresh Compensation Required to Yes or No depending on whether a compensation refresh is needed when this field changes.
• Column AC: Enter the Mapped Domain Attribute Name to link the field to its domain attribute.
• Column AD: Enter the Follows Base Element Field if this field inherits behaviour from a base element.

10. Close the workbook and navigate back to SFCodeBot. Click the hamburger icon under the Actions tab for the same iteration number. Select the ‘Start Configuration’ option from the drop-down menu.

11. The Start Configuration popup will appear. Enter your credentials and some execution notes. Lastly, select the HRIS Elements checkbox, and hit the "Confirm and Start" button.

12. Later on, you can click the information icon to monitor the progress of your iteration. Screenshots will be visible once changes are successfully pushed to the instance.

13. Once the status shows complete, go back in the workbook, and observe that these HRIS elements have been updated successfully as the rows and their corresponding fields are now highlighted green. Meanwhile, the processing status has also turned to "Passed" Status.

Note: You can also confirm these changes by switching to Manage Business Configuration on SAP Success Factors and selecting the HRIS element you have just updated.
