Workbooks Deprecated / Upgrade Workbook
A deprecated workbook in CodeBot is a workbook that no longer maintains a bidirectional connection with an SAP SuccessFactors instance. This occurs when our development team needs to alter the workbook's formatting for one of the following reasons:
SAP SuccessFactors undergoes a significant change with a new release or feature, or 2) we modify the workbook based on client feedback.
You can tell when a workbook is deprecated because the iteration will be in gray.
What do I do when the workbook deprecates?
For a quick solution, you can use the “Upgrade Workbook” function. This will trigger a bot to re-format the workbook to the new CodeBot standard workbook, thus fixing the bidirectional communication between workbook and instance. After “Upgrade Workbook” is complete, you’ll be about to automate configuration and generate a new workbook from that same instance.
To run this feature, simply click the hamburger menu on a deprecated workbook. (Note, not all users have these permissions enabled… Please contact your Company Admin for the permissions).
Note: “Upgrade Workbook” does not require logging in to SAP SuccessFactors. Therefore the configuration within the workbook is not necessarily matching the configuration in the instance.
If it has been a very long time since you’ve generated a workbook, we recommend that you move the deprecated workbook to an “archive” workspace, create a new iteration, and regenerate the workbook.
