Step-by-Step Helpdesk Guide: How to Add New Role Grants to RBP
This contains 3 sections.
Basic Information
Start by opening a pre-generated workbook of Role Based Permissions. Go to Roles Grants To tab, now In column B, given the Role name.
For the "Rule ID," in column C, any random number can be given.
Note: To avoid any sort of overlapping, it is recommended to start the rule ID with any alphabet/letter.
The bot will select this number during execution, and once the process is complete, the Rule ID will be updated in the system. A new, unique Rule ID will then be generated in the instance and reflected in the sheet.
2. Grant Access to
This section is about granting the role to the manager, everyone (all employees) or a permission group.
Provide the relevant information as shown below.
Define a Target Population
The Target Population section is where you define the scope of users who will receive the role or permission. There are three main options for selecting your target population:
· Everyone:
By selecting "Everyone," you are granting the role or permissions to all users in the system, regardless of their group or individual settings.
· Permission Groups:
If you prefer to limit access to certain groups, you can filter by Permission Groups. This allows you to assign the role or permissions only to specific groups of users based on predefined categories.
· Granted Users:
Alternatively, you can assign roles or permissions to specific users who have already been granted access. This option allows you to filter by individual users, ensuring that only those explicitly specified can access the role or permission.
After all the information is provided, you can set the Processing role name to pending and close the workbook.
Back in CodeBot, from the hamburger menu, select ''Start Configuration''
Enter SFSF password, execution notes and select ‘Roles Grants to’’ from the advance options and click on confirm and start.
After sometime, the execution gets completed. You can view the screenshots of the updated information in the instance. In this case, the rule id has been updated as shown below.

To verify, open your SuccessFactors instance. Navigate to ‘’Manage Permissions Roles’’ and open that specific role name in which you made the changes.
Go to assignments and notice that the role name has been updated with a unique ID.
