Post Training Exercises
Below are some recommended training exercises to try out, once you have finished the official training. These are small, low risk changes that allow you to practice your CodeBot skills and gain confidence.
Any Module:
Modify a Single Field Value in a Workbook
For example, update a label, description, or setting in one configuration area.
Add or Update a Picklist Value
Insert a new picklist option or adjust an existing one.
Adjust a Business Rule Description
Update the text or naming convention of a rule without changing logic.
Update a Workflow Step
Rename a workflow step.
Change a Template Description
Update the description of a template (e.g., performance, compensation, recruiting).
Run a Compare to Validate Changes
Make a small change, then run a Compare to see how CodeBot detects and displays differences.
Generate a New Workbook After a Change
Practice generating a workbook to confirm the update appears correctly.
Test a Migration of a Small Change
Migrate a simple update (like a renamed role or picklist value) from one instance to another.
Module‑Specific Post‑Training Practice Tasks
Employee Central (EC)
- Update a single Foundation Object label
- Add one new picklist value used in EC
- Compare EC configuration between two iterations to identify one intentional change
Recruiting (RCM)
- Update one Recruiting email template (e.g., Interview Scheduled).
- Modify a single field label in a Job Requisition or Application template.
- Add one new status to the pipeline.
Compensation (COMP)
- Update one field label or description in a Compensation template.
- Add or modify a single guideline rule
- Compare two Compensation templates to identify a configuration difference.
Succession (SUC)
- Update one field label in the Succession Data Model.
- Add a new nomination method or adjust a setting and regenerate the workbook.
- Compare Succession configuration across iterations to see a single change.
Performance & Goals (PMGM)
- Update one field label in a Performance Form template.
- Add or modify a single Goal Plan field or category.
- Compare PMGM templates between environments to identify one difference.
Role‑Based Permissions (RBP)
- Update a single Permission Role name or description.
- Update a single Permission Group name or description.
- Modify ONE permission in ONE role and migrate the change across instances.
Learning (LMS)
- Update one field in a Learning admin setting and regenerate the workbook.
- Compare Learning configuration between two iterations to identify one change.
- Update a single notification template.
Onboarding (ONB)
- Update one field label in an ONB panel.
- Add a single custom field and validate it in the workbook.
- Compare ONB configuration across environments to identify one difference.
