Creating a New RBP Permission Group and migrating it to another instance

Follow these steps to create a new RBP Permission Group in your SuccessFactors instance and migrating that group to another instance.

**Step 1: Open the RBP Workbook**

Launch the RBP workbook.
Navigate to the Permission Groups tab.

**Step 2: Populate Required Fields**

Complete the following fields in the Permission Groups tab:

Group Name: Enter a unique name for the new permission group.
DG Pool: Specify the appropriate DG (Data Group) pool for the permission group.
Field Label: Provide the label for the field.
Expression Value: Enter the expression value that defines the permissions for the group.

**Step 3: Set Processing Status**

Once you have populated the required fields, update the Processing Status field to Pending. This indicates that the group is ready for processing.

**Step 4: Configure Permission Group in Codebot**

Open Codebot and begin the configuration for the new permission group.
Wait for the configuration execution to complete.

**Step 5: Verify Execution Completion**

Once the configuration execution is completed, you can check the logs to review updates made in the workbook. The logs will include screenshots that highlight the changes and confirm that the process has been executed successfully.

**Step 6: Verify Success in the Workbook**

After the execution completes successfully, open the workbook again. You should see green highlights indicating the successful creation of the permission group.

Now verify the newly created group.

**Step 1: Open the SuccessFactors Instance**

Log into the SuccessFactors instance.

**Step 2: Navigate to Manage Permission Groups**

Go to Manage Permission Groups in the SuccessFactors Admin section.
Look for the new permission group you created. It should now appear in the list.

**Migrating the Permission Group to Another Instance**

First, click the pencil icon under the Actions menu to edit the iteration. Update the instance details by modifying the Host Address, IAS Host Address (if necessary), Company ID, and SFSF Username. Finally, click Submit Form to save the changes.

Reopen the same workbook and set the processing group name to pending again.

Note: Ensure that the Field Label already exists in the target instance before proceeding with the migration. Additionally, verify that the Expression Value is present in the instance to ensure a successful migration.

Back in CodeBot. Start the configuration. Once the configuration execution is completed, you can check the logs to review updates made in the workbook. The logs will include screenshots that highlight the changes and confirm that the process has been executed successfully.

Verify the migration in Instance 2

Log into the SuccessFactors instance (Instance 2), and you should see that the permission group has been successfully migrated.

**Conclusion**

By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can easily create and migrate an RBP permission group in SuccessFactors. The use of Codebot for configuration ensures a seamless process, and you can verify successful creation and migration through visual indicators in the workbook and SuccessFactors instance.
