# Workbook Insights & Capabilities: Role-Based Permissions (RBP)

Welcome to the Workbook Insights & Capabilities guide for Role Based Permissions (RBP). This module‑specific breakdown outlines every configuration object CodeBot can extract and process, including what each item represents, how it is used, and why it matters. Whether you’re auditing configuration, optimizing processes, or migrating changes across environments, this guide provides a clear, structured view of CodeBot’s full capabilities within RBP — helping you manage SuccessFactors with confidence and precision. Each workbook delivers deep visibility into system logic, relationships, dependencies, and data structures — giving administrators a powerful foundation for audits, redesigns, migrations, and long‑term configuration governance.

| **Rubric Contents** | **Description** | **Use Cases** | **Extra Notes** |
| **Config Tab** | Allows pre-filtering options before generating a workbook;

some workbooks include formatting options. | Review only specific roles or group types (e.g., static groups only). | RBP: Allows pre-filtering of roles or groups before extraction. |
| **Field Overrides** | Extract of all fields that have an override set in RBP. | Review existing overrides;

change existing overrides; add new overrides. | Commonly used during audits or cleanup cycles. |
| **RBP Groups** | List of all existing RBP Groups including ID & name. | Rename existing groups;

add a new empty group (no expression values)

Identify groups not assigned to roles for clean up | Do not edit/add Group IDs — they are system-generated. If environments aren’t refreshed, IDs differ → one workbook cannot migrate changes across multiple environments. Create new workbooks per instance. |
| **RBP Roles** | List of all existing RBP Roles including ID & name. | Rename existing roles;

add a new empty role (no permissions). | Do not use this tab to update permissions — use RBP\_Permissions. Role IDs are system-generated. |
| **Permission Groups** | Shows included/excluded people pools and criteria for each RBP Group. | Update existing pool criteria;

remove pools;

add new pools/criteria;

create new group with pools/criteria. | Essential for dynamic population adjustments. |
| **Permission Groups Categories** | Extracts list of People Pool Category options available. | Compare categories across environments;

validate category availability before migrating changes. | Useful for multi-instance harmonization. |
| **Grants To Target\_DataAccess** | Extracts Target Criteria section of RBP Role Assignment. | Limit role assignments by MDF, Position, or other criteria. | Used for granular role assignment logic. |
| **Roles Grants To** | Extracts Source & Target groups granted to each RBP role, including standard roles, manager/HR relationships, and populations. | Update existing source/target;

add new source/target; remove criteria. | |
| **RBP\_Permissions** | Shows granular permissions available and what is assigned per role. | Update/change/remove permissions;

add new role and assign permissions. | Set Process Permissions to NO except for permissions being updated.

Requires two fields to be set: Process Permission + Pending. |
