# Validation Functionality in CodeBot for SAP SuccessFactors

The **Validation** feature in CodeBot helps ensure that the data in your workbook matches the data in the instance. It’s a quick and efficient way to verify that your workbook is up to date.

**__Steps to Perform Validation:__**

1. **Open the Workbook**

* Open a generated workbook for any required module (e.g., EC). Here, we will validate the MDF objects from the workbook to the instance.

* Set the processing status to **Pending** for the items you want to validate. The bot will then focus on those specific items.

* Close the workbook


2. **Start Validation in CodeBot**

* In CodeBot, click the **hamburger menu** and select **Start Validation**.

* Login using **SSO** (if enabled). If not, enter your SuccessFactors password.
* Provide execution notes.
* Select the **MDF Objects** checkbox.
* Click **Confirm & Start** to initiate the process.

**3. Monitor the Execution**

* The iteration is processing, click the “i” icon to track execution progress.

* Refresh the logs to view updated information.

* Once the status changes to complete, review the logs to ensure there are no errors.

**4. Review Results**

*  Reopen the workbook.
* **Red highlights** indicate differences between the workbook and the instance.
* **Green highlights** confirm matching data across both.
