# Succession - SOC Readiness Rating Scale

## Updating or Adding a SOC Readiness Rating Scale in SAP SuccessFactors Using CodeBot

### 🔄Purpose
This article outlines the step-by-step process to **add or update the SOC Readiness Rating Scale** in **SAP SuccessFactors** using **CodeBot for SAP SuccessFactors**. CodeBot streamlines bulk configuration changes, providing a faster and error-free alternative to manual updates.

### Prerequisites
* Access to **CodeBot for SAP SuccessFactors**
* Access to the appropriate **succession workbook**
* Proper role/permissions in **SAP SuccessFactors** to access and verify rating scales
* If the instance is **SSO-enabled**, ensure SSO settings are correctly configured in CodeBot

### Steps to Add or Update the SOC Readiness Rating Scale

#### 1. **Open the Succession Workbook**
* Locate and open the **Succession workbook** that contains the **SOC Readiness rating scale** tab.
#### 2. **Enter the Rating Scale Data**
In the corresponding worksheet:
* **Column B:** Enter the **score**
* **Column C:** Enter the **label** for the readiness level 
* **Column D:** Enter the **description** for the label

> **Note:** Some workbooks may not have columns for processing status.
#### 3. **Save and Close the Workbook**
* Save your changes and close the workbook. The data is now ready for CodeBot processing.

#### 4. **Launch CodeBot**
* Back in **CodeBot for SAP SuccessFactors**
* Click the **hamburger menu** (≡) in the top-left corner
* Select **Start Configuration**
#### 5. **Configure Execution Settings**
* If your **SuccessFactors instance is SSO-enabled**, check the **SSO checkbox** as shown in the UI
* Enter relevant **execution notes** (e.g., “Updated SOC readiness scale for Q4 2025”)

#### 6. **Choose Advanced Options**
* Under **Advanced Options**, select:
✅ **SOC Readiness Rating Scales**
✅ Use the **Optimized Version** for improved performance
#### 7. **Start the Execution**
* Click on **Confirm and Start**

### ✅ Post-Execution Steps

#### 8. **Review Execution Results**
* Upon completion, CodeBot will:
    * Display **execution status**
    * Generate **screenshots of the changes** made
    * Highlight successful entries in the workbook in **green**

#### 9. **Verify in SAP SuccessFactors**
* Log in to your **SuccessFactors instance**
* Navigate to:
`Admin Center > Manage Rating Scales > SOC Readiness Rating Scale`
* Verify that:
    * New entries are present
    * Existing entries were updated correctly
    * Descriptions and labels appear as expected
