# Position Management - Mass Data Management

# **User Guide: Managing Mass Data Updates via the Position Management Module and CodeBot**

## Overview
This guide outlines the step-by-step process for managing mass data updates using the pre-generated workbook in the **Position Management module**, and automating the changes using **CodeBot for SAP SuccessFactors**. This process is typically used for mass updates such as positions, associations, and organizational changes in SAP SuccessFactors.

## Step 1: Access the Mass Data Management Tab
1. Navigate to the **Position Management module** 
2. Open the **pre-generated workbook**
3. Go to the **“Mass Data Management” tab**

## Step 2: Prepare the Workbook for Data Entry
Follow these steps to add or update data:
| Column | Description |
| ---- |
| **B** | Change the **Processing Status** to `Pending`. |
| **C** | Select the **Processing Object ID** from the dropdown. |
| **E** | Enter the **Object ID**. |
| **F** | Enter the **Object Name**. |
| **G** | Enter the **Target GO Type**. |
| **Other Columns** | Fill in remaining columns as required by your scenario. |

### Optional: Association Section
After the divider in the workbook, there is a section labeled **Associations**.
* Fill in this section **only if** associations (e.g., relationships between positions or departments) are being added or updated.

## Step 3: Save and Exit
* Once your data is entered, **save and close** the workbook.

## Step 4: Launch CodeBot to Automate Changes
1. Open **CodeBot**.
2. Click on the **hamburger menu (☰)**.
3. Select **Start Configuration**.

## Step 5: Authentication and Advanced Settings
* If your **SuccessFactors instance is SSO-enabled**, check the **SSO** checkbox.
* Otherwise:
    * Enter your **SFSF password**.
    * Provide any relevant **execution notes**.
    * Under **Advanced Options**, check the box for **Mass Data Management**.

## Step 6: Monitor progress of the execution

## Step 7: Open the Workbook

Once the execution is completed, open the workbook and notice the green highlights indicating successfull changes.

## Step 8: Verify Your Changes in SuccessFactors
1. Log in to your **SuccessFactors** instance.
2. Navigate to **Manage Data**.
3. In the search bar, look for **Mass Changes Job Configuration**.
4. Locate and open your newly created **MCJC** (Mass Changes Job Configuration) to verify the entries.
