ONB - Moving XDP Files Across Instances

ONB 2.0 – Moving XDP files across instances

  1. Ensure that you have saved copies of the relevant XDP files from your instance (ensure the names of files are accurate too)

  1. Log into Codebot

  1. Navigate to your ONB workspace

  •  Either use a current workbook from your source instance or run a new one
  •  You want the workbook to be wherever your most current ONB config is (this ensures that signature and mapping fields for the Document Templates are extracted)

  1. Navigate to the menu on the left hand side of the page, then select Others à Manage Docs

  1. Upload your XDP files – once imported they will appear as below

  1. Copy the code i.e. @sfcodebot-5e4f9c6cfcdd4f10b52939d8b4ce1021

  1. Go to your ONB workbook and clone it

note that there are multiple ways that you can choose to move config. This method is the simplest. You can also use the Migration tool or use the Parallel instance feature but those require slightly different steps.

  • Make sure you edit the workbook and update the instance details to your target instance

  1. Then open the cloned workbook and navigate to the Document Templates tab

  • Add the code of the XDP file that you imported, to the relevant Document ID
  • Repeat for all files

  1. In column B – set the status to Pending for the Document IDs that need to be updated with the XDP

  1. Close the workbook

  1. Select the hamburger icon and choose start configuration

  1. Select login with SSO & enter your execution notes

  1. Select the objects that you wish to update (Document Templates)

  1. Confirm & start

Note that if you do not wish to clone the workbook, you can follow the steps below to use the Parallel Instance functionality.

Repeat the steps above but SKIP step 7 and 14. Once you reach step 13 – go to step 15 below

  1. Select the up-arrow icon and select Execute on Parallel Instance(s)

Please note that you will not see the arrow for Parallel Instance configuration until you have selected at least one object.

  1. Once the instances appear, select Add Instance.

  1. Update the relevant information (login with SSO,username, description, execution notes)

  1. Select Confirm & Execute

  1. The parallel instance will start processing

DO NOT select Confirm & execute on the main page so as to not update the config in your source instance (unless you want to).
