ONB - Equipment Category
Purpose
This guide outlines the steps to add a new Equipment Category in SAP SuccessFactors using the Onboarding 2.0 Workbook and CodeBot automation tool.
✅ Prerequisites
- Access to SAP SuccessFactors with permissions for Onboarding 2.0 configuration.
- Access to CodeBot.
- Onboarding 2.0 Workbook generated.
- SSO access or valid SFSF credentials.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open the Onboarding 2.0 Workbook
- Launch the Equipment Category Configuration Workbook.
- Ensure the Processing Status is set to
Pending.
2. Fill in the Required Columns
Column | Description |

C | Processing Category ID – Unique identifier for the process category. |
E | Equipment Category ID – Identifier for the new equipment category. |
F | Category Name – User-friendly display name for the category. |
G | IconIcon name or reference associated with the category. |
I | Equipment Category/ID – Links the equipment to the category. |
J | Child Item ID – Identifier for nested or related items. |
K | Item – Equipment or asset name being added. |
3. Launch CodeBot Automation
- Open CodeBot and click on the hamburger menu (☰).
- Select “Start Configuration” to begin the automation process.
4. Authenticate and Start
- If SSO is enabled:
- Provide execution notes, select Equipment Category, then click Confirm and Start.
- If SSO is not enabled:
- Enter your SAP SuccessFactors password, check Equipment Category, and click Confirm and Start.
5. Monitor Execution
6. Review the Workbook for Confirmation
- Once the automation completes:
- Reopen the workbook.
- Look for green-highlighted rows, which indicate successful processing.
7. Verify in SAP SuccessFactors
- Go to Admin Center → Manage Onboarding and Offboarding Tasks.
- Navigate to Task Settings.
- Confirm that the new equipment category appears as expected.
