Import/Export Compare and Import after compare

Import/Export data play a vital role in SuccessFactors, CodeBot for SAP SuccessFactors helps you compare two different workbooks from different instances in no time; by highlighting the differences: Matched data in green and unmatched data in red.

Our import/Export compare function has a process to follow, this article will help you compare your workbooks and push the changes from one instance to another. Let's begin!

Create iterations from two different instances.

Instance 1
Instance 2

Once the iterations are created open the workbook, and select export in column B, select the generic object in column C.

In column D, type the sheet name. Note: You must keep the sheet name same in both the workbooks, this will prevent any errors.

Finally set the status to pending in column N, this will allow the bot to bring down the data from the instance to the workbook.

Close the workbook, click on the hamburger menu and click on 'Process workbook'. Note: For export you can directly select process workbook. When running Import, it is important to first run prepare and then process.
Once you click on process workbook, a form will populate; enter your SuccessFactors password, execution notes and click on select ''all'' from the advance options.
To track the progress of your export, click on the i icon under the actions menu.
Once complete, open the workbook and notice that the tabs are created and data is successfully pulled down by the bot in the workbook.

Export Job Completed

Once both the workbook are completed with export and has all the data, now you can run compare.

Note: To run compare, it is mandatory to make clone of your workbook which you need to compare by clicking the clone icon under actions menu. Also, you need to check the columns in the tabs for both workbooks, the workbook with higher number of columns can be compared with the one with less number of columns.
For Example: Workbook 1 has columns up to BL, and Workbook 2 has columns up to BK. We will compare Workbook 1 with Workbook 2.

To run compare, close the workbook; click on the hamburger menu and click on "Compare Iterations", select iteration 2 from the dropdown and click on confirm and start.

Once complete open the workbook and notice the highlighted data; the data that matches is highlighted in green and the data the does not match is highlighted in red.

Now to import the mismatched data, from instance one (workbook 1) to instance two (workbook 2).
Open the workbook 2, and select import in column B; in column C select the generic object, in column D enter the sheet name; at last, set the status to pending.

Back in CodeBot, click the hamburger menu and click on prepare sheet, this will allow the bot to prepare blank tabs.
Enter the SFSF password, execution notes and select all from the advanced options. Click on confirm and start.
As the status changes to complete open the workbook and notice that the tabs are now created, copy the data from workbook 1 that is highlighted in red and paste it in workbook 2.

Note: Match the column headers and adjust the data accordingly, for this you need to keep both the workbooks open to ensure that the data is placed correctly.

Once you are done, close the workbook, back in codebot click the hamburger menu and click on process workbook.
Enter the SFSF password, execution notes and select all from the advanced options. Click on confirm and start.
Click on the i icon to see the progress of the execution, you can also see the screenshots from the instance in the logs.
Once the execution is complete, open the workbook and navigate to the import tabs where you pasted the data and notice that it is highlighted in green. Which means that the data is successfully imported into the instance.
You can also verify by logging into your SuccessFactors instance.
